Tour programme

Where do we buy food and local specialties, where do we go to the beach, why do we have a Sphinx in our city? What’s so special about basketball in Zadar, where Luka Modrić played football? Where was Maraschino made? Who are the Barkaijoli? And which historical dates do we remember the most? Join us for a Hidden Gem Tour, and we’ll try to answer all these questions and many more! 🙂 Discover Zadar’s secret spots and hidden places—some of which you won’t find on a postcard or even read about on TripAdvisor.

  1. Kolovare and Arbanasi

Situated near the old city of Zadar, Kolovare is one of the most beautiful beaches in Zadar, very popular among local people. During the ride, we will visit one of the Arbanasi areas - one of the most populated residential parts of the city with traditional Dalmatian architecture and a traditional way of living. A short stop is possible if needed.

  2. Zadar Market

Local markets are always fun to visit. This farmers' market is compact, so you won't find souvenirs here, but what you will find is local, freshly made food and some delicate products that you can bring home with you

  3. A city of basketball

Why do we love basketball so much? Where do we play it? And who was the best player ever? You can find out from our local guides, who will show you why we are so passionate about it.

  4. Land City Gates

The Land City Gates date from Venetian times and were built in 1543. They lead through the city walls into the old town of Zadar. Notably, the Land Gate is designed in the form of a triumphal arch.

  5. The Sea Organ

The Sea Organ has become a modern icon of the city – this unique architectural marvel was recently built in the underwater part of the city quay. The currents of the waves and their passage through musical pipes installed beneath the sea's surface create an amazing sound, known as sea music, which fills the large space of the seaside promenade.

  6. The Greeting to the Sun

The Greeting to the Sun is a striking installation on the city quay, featuring three hundred multilayer glass plates embedded at the same level as the stone paving, forming a perfect circle 22 meters in diameter. Designed as an amphitheater, it is surrounded by stone blocks that showcase a presentation of the planets in the Solar System and their orbits, offering both a visual and educational experience.

  7. The Roman Forum

The Roman Forum, constructed between the 1st century BC and the 3rd century AD, was the center of civic and religious life in Roman times. Today, it remains a significant site, with St Donatus' Church dominating one side of it.
