SUP Ljubljana

If you’re strolling down the streets of Europe’s cutest capital and are feeling adventurous, you’ll be glad to learn there’s another awesome route you could take to admire Ljubljana’s wonderful allure, and that it’s called the Ljubljanica River. Difficult to pronounce and impossible not to admire, the river that winds its way through the centre of town has witnessed the entire history of Ljubljana and its people. Legend has it, Jason and the Argonauts ventured down the Ljubljanica to fight the local dragon. Like the ancient Greek adventurers, you too shall do battle on the river, but instead of a dragon, your adversary will be your own sense of balance.That’s right, we’re talking about paddle-boarding on a SUP through the centre of Ljubljana. You’ll be able to see the sights, get some insider knowledge and do a bit of exercise as you pass by the lovely architecture lining the banks of the river.

Never stood on a SUP board before? No worries, this urban paddling tour starts with a quick crash course during which beginners will be able to pick up the basics within 10 minutes. Then the fun begins!

Gorgeous willow trees will pass you by as you traverse down the Ljubljanica and make your way to the world-famous Triple Bridge and the Dragon Bridge, one of Ljubljana’s historic symbols. You’ll be introduced to all the landmarks, hear a few interesting anecdotes about the city and Slovenian culture, as well as receive quite a few useful tips on which bars or restaurants to try while in town.
